The Dr. Sidney Benton Mathematics Educator Scholarship was established to provide scholarship funds to future math educators at the University of North Georgia. Dr. Benton knew from an early age that he wanted to teach. He was inspired by his wonderful teachers to pursue a career in education. Because his favorite years of teaching mathematics was at the Junior and High School level, Dr. Benton wanted to help those who are planning to teach mathematics at those levels with this scholarship.
