COL (Ret) Ben Malcom, a distinguished member of the UNG Hall of Fame and the R.O.T.C. Hall of Fame, exemplifies the highest ideals of military service, leadership, and commitment to excellence. His heroic actions during the Korean War, where he played a pivotal role in leading partisan units behind enemy lines, earned him the Silver Star and laid the foundation for today's Special Forces.
In recognition of his outstanding contributions to UNG and the Corps of Cadets, the COL (Ret) Ben S. Malcom Endowed Scholarship was established to provide scholarship support to Cadets in perpetuity. By donating to this scholarship fund, you are honoring Colonel Malcom's legacy and ensuring that future generations of Cadets have access to the transformative experiences and opportunities afforded by UNG.
Help us bridge the gap and make an immediate impact by contributing to the COL (Ret) Ben S. Malcom Endowed Scholarship. Our fundraising goal is to raise $3,000 to provide immediate financial assistance to deserving Cadets at the University of North Georgia. Although initially endowed with seed money from COL Malcom, the scholarship faces a three-year wait to accrue enough interest to award its first scholarship. Your contribution will make an immediate impact by providing financial assistance to Cadets who demonstrate exemplary leadership, dedication, and service.
Join us in honoring Colonel Malcom's legacy and supporting the next generation of military leaders at UNG.
“COL Malcom passed away unexpectedly this year, and one of the last interactions he had with UNG was to start this endowed scholarship. It was important to him that all Cadets at UNG could benefit from the transformational and foundational experiences the Corps provided him with. By giving, we can honor his legacy and immediately begin awarding scholarships in his name.”
- James Corbin, Director of Development for the Corps of Cadets
